At Madni Early Years we have provision for 2 year olds, Nursery and Reception.
2 year olds
Children in our Two Year Old Class are introduced to developmentally appropriate, theme-based concepts through fun and exciting group and individual experiences. Our robust classroom environment allows children to learn, as they develop self-confidence and establish friendships. Children are encouraged to explore all aspects of the classroom - growing and learning with both repetitive and new experiences.
Emphasis is placed on social interaction and emotional growth. Children learn to follow directions and take turns. They are given lots of opportunities to make decisions and encouraged to make good choices.
Our two year olds are introduced to "potty training" based upon individual development. Our staff work closely with parents to coordinate this important milestone in the best interest of the child.
Activities for the two year olds are planned within the areas of learning as specified in the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We work closely with Nursery and Reception as this helps children immensely when it comes to transition to the next stage of their learning.
You can apply to Kirklees to claim funding for a 2 year old, please click here http://www.kirklees.gov.uk/beta/childcare-and-early-education/free-early...
If your child is not eligible for 2 year old funding there is a nominal charge of £6.50 per session
The first years in Nursery are based on children learning through play. The importance of play is often under estimated. Young children respond with more interest when presented with fun and exciting activities that capture their imagination as well as teaching them important skills. These children are then more emotionally more mature and ready to face the next steps in their lives. Throughout the year, we plan according to all the children’s individual needs and abilities, ensuring that we cover the EYFS, which sets the standards for learning and the care of young children.
The Early Years Foundation Stage consists of a statutory framework for the Early Years which sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five years. The aim of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYSF) is to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to learn through high quality play experiences and that they will be supported through this journey by their relationship with their key person.
The setting is run by a team of experienced and caring staff who over the years have formed many friendships with a lot of returning parents and their children. Each morning the children and their parents/carers are welcomed by all staff into the classroom. Parents are encouraged to play an active part in their child’s time in nursery by participating in morning activities with their child.
We believe in a holistic approach to learning which contributes to the all-round growth and development of every child and starts from a child’s prior knowledge, understanding and experiences of the world. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum that will enable each child to develop emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually and prepares children for transition into Key Stage 1.
Your child will be encouraged to take part in a wide range of exciting activities to extend and build upon their existing abilities, interests and knowledge. Whilst gaining a thirst for learning we will ensure that your child has fun and enjoys coming to nursery.
There are seven areas of learning and development and all areas are important and interconnected. Three areas are particularly crucial for igniting children’s curiosity, enthusiasm for learning and for building their capacity to learn, form relationships and thrive.
These three areas, the prime areas, are:
Communication and Language
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
There are four specific areas:
Understanding the World
Expressive Arts and Design
Meeting individual needs of all children lies at the heart of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We deliver personalized learning, development and care, to help all children to get the best possible start in life.
